What is it that draws one individual to another? How is it that close friends seem to know what each other are thinking or feeling? What’s taking place when someone walks into a crowded room and the mood suddenly seems to shift?
Scientists believe the answer lies in the human heart, which possesses an energy field that radiates outward and can be detected at least a few feet away from the body.
Researchers at the HeartMath Institute (HMI), which has been exploring the heart’s energy for more than two decades, refer to it as the energetic heart, and aptly so.
Even through the brain is a principal energy force, it turns out the heart actually has an electrical field estimated to be 60 times the amplitude of the brain.
Speaking From Your Energetic Heart
Researchers at HMI have verified in multiple studies that the electromagnetic field generated by the heart of one person is detectable in another person. They hypothesize that information is encoded in this energy field, and it can be communicated between persons within close proximity of one another.
The heart’s electromagnetic field is explored in greater detail in HeartMath’s The Energetic Heart: Bioelectromagnetic Interactions Within and Between People.
